It was quite dramatic in person! I took three shots, and this was the middle one. The real story was that the crow legitimately found its prize first. The bully seagull decided that it deserved the crow's lunch, so it swooped down nearby. The crow perked up, saw the threat, and trotted away. The seagull put it's head down and beak forward, and scampered after it, hop by hop. At the moment in this picture, the crow looks back and the seagull's doing the ol' whistle and "aw, I'm just out for a friendly stroll and I don't even notice the tasty morsel in your mouth... or the fact that I'm way bigger than you."
The crow was having none of it, lol
I photoshopped the hell out of this, and it's noticeable. Halos, pixelation, maybe unbalanced toning? I just wanted to play around with highlighting the drama. In the initial shot, the building was way darker, the sky way flatter, the action decidedly less dramatic.
Oh, and just because I'm a bit of a language hound, yes it's: pix-EL-ation, from "pixel" which is from "picture element." If you generally use pixilation... well, I'm not sure "mentally unbalanced" is a good descriptor for a photo. (pause). Then again...
