In 2010, the 12x12yvr Vancouver Photo Marathon was held at Blenze in Yaletown. During a bored moment I took a snap of reflections in the chrome garbage can of people walking in the door. I didn't like any of them. I was in the area last spring and tried again. And again I didn't like any of them. Then two weeks ago I was on a Black and White post processing kick and discovered that this one worked a lot better when the colours were removed. I love colour, and the colours were gorgeous. But with them present it became difficult to decide what the image was about - the gorgeous colours, or the interesting forms. Turns out (in my opinion at least), the forms were more interesting. Black and White.
