I spent a super relaxing day with SJ this past weekend up at a lake in the area. We hung out on the dock most of the day swimming and fooling around with the camera. This is a shot standing under the lifeguard umbrella with the sun dead centre. I thought it was a neat abstract.
Photoshop: darkened the whole thing with a Levels adjustment. Then did another Levels adjustment on the middle fading to edges (used a black to transparent circular gradient as the alpha channel for the adjustment layer) and shifted the greys lighter to reduce contrast with the white sun. Square crop and done!
Thanks everyone for the recent input! The photoshop work done on "breath of a poet" was done in part four years ago, and then more about a year ago, so I'm not really certain exactly what I did, or how efficient it was. If i could figure out how to reproduce that effect in any efficient kind of way, i'd be happy. ;)
